Positions, scoring, fouls, key terms and junior game durations — the same rules reference built into the Squaddie app.
The world's most popular sport — played with two teams trying to score by putting the ball into the opponent's goal.
Based on the FIFA Laws of the Game, with junior modifications used by NZ Football (and NZSSF), Football Australia (MiniRoos) and US Youth Soccer. US high schools play NFHS rules, which differ mainly on substitutions.
A goal is scored when the entire ball crosses the goal line between the posts and under the crossbar. The match clock keeps running — even for injuries and substitutions — so subs have to be made quickly at stoppages. Squads of 10–18 cover the running demands.
